Through Sri Chakra Ayurveda Hospital, Dr. Mahender has been actively involved in providing healthcare services and making therapeutic care accessible to people. His work has focused on creating an institution where people can seek professional healthcare support while also understanding the importance of maintaining their health and wellbeing.
His experience in healthcare has given him a close understanding of the challenges people face when illness affects their lives. It also strengthened his belief that healthcare should not focus only on treating disease after it develops, but should also encourage people to understand and protect their health at an earlier stage.
As the Managing Director of Sri Chakra Ayurveda Institute, Dr. Mahender has worked towards creating opportunities for healthcare education and professional skill development. Recognising the need for structured training in specialised therapeutic care, he pioneered the initiative to introduce a structured Panchakarma Therapist Training Course in Telangana.
The initiative was started with the intention of developing skilled therapists who could effectively support practitioners in delivering therapeutic care, while also creating professional opportunities for individuals entering the field.
Through his work in healthcare and education, Dr. Mahender increasingly recognised a larger challenge: many people begin taking their health seriously only after they become ill. This led him to an important question:
How can we help people protect their health before they become patients?
This question inspired him to establish Sarvahitha Arogya Sadhana Trust (SAST). The Trust was founded with the intention of taking health awareness beyond hospitals and healthcare institutions and making it accessible to individuals and communities. Through its public health and community initiatives, SAST aims to encourage people to understand their health better, recognise potential risks, and take greater responsibility for their own wellbeing.
At the heart of this work is a simple message: health should not become important only when illness arrives.
This vision eventually led to the creation of Prevent NCDs, a public health and prevention initiative focused on non-communicable diseases. Prevent NCDs was created to help people better understand their health risks and encourage them to take timely action. The initiative brings together health awareness, early risk identification, prevention programmes, and practical guidance to help individuals make healthier choices.
At the heart of both SAST and Prevent NCDs is one important intention: to help people take their health into their own hands through prevention.
Dr. Mahender believes that doctors, hospitals, and healthcare systems play an essential role in protecting health. However, individuals must also have the awareness and knowledge needed to take care of themselves every day.
His journey, from healthcare delivery and education to community service and preventive public health, reflects his larger commitment to public service. Each of his initiatives serves a different purpose, yet they are connected by one common intention: to serve people and contribute towards better health.
